Sara recommended this Esquire story, about an army funeral, and I read it this morning. Warning — not a particularly good think to read at work, because you might tear up, as I did. Multiple times.

The really ugly issue has Jessica Simpson on the cover, with a coverline that says she's just there to make you pick up the magazine and "immerse yourself in the most gripping story you will read this year," i.e. the funeral one. I find that kind of obnoxious — don't pretend you get a pass on the sexy celebrity cover just because you have good features as well — and I wouldn't call the story gripping, exactly. More like engaging. But definitely worth a read, especially online without Jessica Simpson being involved.
